Defective Goodyear Tire Affair: "I've Been Screaming and Raising the Alarm for Ten Years"

Sophie Rollet has been fighting since 2014 to prove that manufacturing defects in certain Goodyear tires were the cause of her husband's death. A subsidiary of the company was indicted on Tuesday, May 13, a first step that validates her ten years of solitary research.

The culmination of more than a decade of struggle. Goodyear Operations , a subsidiary of the American tire giant, announced on Tuesday, May 13, that it had been indicted as part of an investigation into "involuntary manslaughter," "deception on the substantial qualities of goods," and "deceptive commercial practices." The company is suspected of having concealed defects in some of its tires. Serious manufacturing defects that caused three fatal accidents in 2014 and 2016 - the drivers lost control of their vehicles after a tire burst.
